Spring Conference, 2012 - REGISTER NOW BELOW!
In this tough economic era of making more with less, the Utah APA Spring Conference 2012 theme is fitting for those who want to survive and thrive during these hard times. Improving skills and exploring new ideas are key to becoming, as Shakespeare said, a master of your own fate.
UTAPA has partnered with Southern Utah University to bring you a dynamic Spring Conference in the beautiful Hunter Conference Center on SUU’s campus. By drawing on the deep faculty recourses of SUU we are able offer sessions and professional training in personnel management, conflict resolution and negotiation, GIS, ethics, and practical economic development.
Economic Development is now a part of almost all planners’ job descriptions. Come listen to and work with Chris Blanchard – economic development researcher from Portland State University – during his two part workshop session on what Economic Developers really do. Read his article in the upcoming Utah Planner newsletter. In addition to thorough discussions of local planning issues in Southern Utah, don’t miss the mobile workshop out to Port 15, Cedar City’s most dramatic and interesting economic development project.
You can’t come to a conference in Cedar City without experiencing Shakespeare! Join us for the Economic Impact of the Shakespeare Festival April 25, the Wednesday evening before the conference. This CM-qualified session will be followed by a performance by the Shakespeare Festival Actors free of charge and open for conference attendees and their guests and family.
